Installation

Choose your first installation

Install the Windows app from Microsoft Store, or choose an existing licensed version below.

For the web, Android, and OctoPrint versions, you can use the same license key to access 2 more installations on any device.

Whatever web browser you activate is where that licensed web-app installation lives.

Pick the version that fits the printer setup you want to activate first.

For the web, Android, and OctoPrint versions, checkout first is easier. The license key can be inserted automatically, but make a copy for your records when it appears. The Windows app does not require this checkout.

Windows app install

  1. Open 3DPrintSaver in Microsoft Store and select Get or Install.
  2. Launch 3DPrintSaver from the Windows Start menu. Its workspace opens in your browser on this computer.
  3. Choose Add Printer and connect a supported printer on your local network.
  4. Install OrcaSlicer separately to use slicing features. Printer status, cameras, and recovery depend on the connected printer's supported interface.

Windows manages app updates through Microsoft Store. Keep any existing Bambu beta bridge closed when launching the Windows app on the same computer.

Bambu beta install

  1. Download the Windows beta ZIP and extract the whole folder before running anything inside it.
  2. Open the extracted folder and double-click Start 3DPrintSaver Bambu Beta.cmd.
  3. The command file starts the local bridge on your computer and opens the local app at http://127.0.0.1:8735.
  4. Keep the bridge window running while you connect to the printer, lock motors, inspect the original Bambu-sliced file, and send the recovery job.
  5. If activation came from checkout, return to this page and use Open and activate Bambu beta after the bridge is running.

OctoPrint plugin install

  1. Open OctoPrint.
  2. Go to Settings > Plugin Manager > Get More.
  3. Paste https://3dprintsaver.com/downloads/octoprint-plugin into the install-from-URL field.
  4. Install the plugin, restart OctoPrint when prompted, then open the 3DPrintSaver.com tab.
  5. Use your checkout email and license key if activation was not filled in automatically.
